Baltiysk delivered an experimental tram back to St. Petersburg

The Baltiysk ferry operated by Oboronlogistics delivered a new experimental tram Korsar that successfully passed tests in Kaliningrad back to Ust-Luga.

The low-floor two-section tram, produced by the company Transport Systems at the Nevsky Plant of Electric Transport has been tested for a month on the streets of Kaliningrad. As the result it received a certificate of conformity. The elimination of the identified comments will allow it to become a factory sample and enter Russian and European markets.

In the next two years, the administration of Kaliningrad plans to launch 26 new Korsar trams on city routes. The single operator of the Ust-Luga – Baltiysk line Oboronlogistics LLC is ready to deliver them to the Kaliningrad Region on the Ambal and Baltiysk ferries.

Ferry transportation is the best way to transport oversized cargo between Kaliningrad and Leningrad regions of Russian Federation bypassing the territories of neighboring states. Ferries operating on the Ust-Luga – Baltiysk line transport not only railway cars but also heavy and oversized cargo on trawls and roll-trailers.
