Kaliningrad is on the line

In the context of new economic challenges one of the main tasks of Oboronlogistics LLC is to ensure operation of the Ust-Luga – Baltiysk railway ferry line – the only way between Kaliningrad Region and the main territory of the country, which allows to deliver cargo bypassing the territory of limitrophs.

Ferries Ambal and Baltiysk, operated by Oboronlogistics, are working on the line. The company constantly monitors their loading, technical condition and traffic schedule.

Two additional railway ferries will appear on the line in the near future: Marshal Rokossovsky and General Chernyakhovsky. Oboronlogistics is also defined as the loading agent for these ferries.

Cargo will be distributed by Oboronlogistics to the nearest scheduled ferry, which, in turn, will help to reduce delivery times and increase the capacity of the line.

Due to a significant increase of cargo on the route, an increase of the number of ferries will preserve the existing order of transportation and provide comfortable conditions for all carriers and shippers.

Thanks to the operation of the Ust-Luga – Baltiysk railway ferry line, the authorities of the Kaliningrad region do not expect any problems in the life support of the region and its supply due to unfriendly decisions of the EU states. The line, as an alternative to other routes of cargo delivery to the Kaliningrad region, is also prevent the growth of railway transit tariffs of these countries.
