The Oboronlogistika dry cargo ship Sparta IV continues to work on the transportation of goods between the port of Arkhangelsk and the Arctic port of Bukhta Sever under construction in the Yenisei Bay of the Kara Sea on the Northern Sea Route.
The vessel successfully completed the first round trip, delivering various construction materials to its destination. Transshipment of cargo in Sever Bay was carried out using the vessel's own crane equipment. Currently, the Sparta IV is heading from the port of Arkhangelsk on another voyage with a new cargo batch.
M/v Sparta IV built in 2018 has previously worked in Artik as part of the northern delivery. The vessel reaches speeds of up to 14 knots and can carry general, container, bulk and oversized cargo, as well as heavy construction equipment. Two cargo cranes with a lifting capacity of 55 tons each allow for prompt cargo handling.
The port of Bay Sever, located in the west of the Taimy Peninsula, will soon become the largest port in the Arctic. The port is actively developing, full-scale construction is underway, the construction of berthing facilities, transport and energy infrastructure.
