Pizhma is back

In February 2023, the dry cargo ship Pizhma, which is a part of Oboronlogistics fleet, completed scheduled repairs in the dock. Following works were performed:

overhaul of the main engines;
repair of the screw-steering complex;
replacement of metal structures;
cleaning from fouling;
painting of the ship's hull;
installation of a new ballast water treatment system.

Also, maintenance of the cargo crane control systems, the bottom-outboard fittings were repaired and the next inspection of the ship's mechanisms was carried out.

The result of the work performed was the successful completion of heeling, mooring and sea trials. Classification and registration documents are currently being received.

 In the near future, the dry cargo ship Pizhma will begin performing tasks related to guaranteed cargo delivery in the interests of the Russian Ministry of Defense and commercial customers.

The motor ship Pizhma is designed to transport cargo of all hazard classes, including radioactive (Class 7). The ship has a deck for containers and general cargo, two holds, one of which is equipped for the transportation of nuclear fuel waste.

 Two ship cranes (with a lifting capacity of 35 tons each) allow quick carry out loading and unloading operations both in the port and on an unequipped shore or an open roadstead.

At maximum load, the vessel can carry up to 3,400 tons of general cargo, containers and other property in one voyage. The displacement of the vessel is 3,400 tons, the speed is 11 knots. The home port is Novorossiysk.
