Ferries in charge

Vessels operating on the Ust-Luga - Baltiysk railway and ferry line regularly transport cargo necessary to ensure the socio–economic and food security of the region to the Kaliningrad Region from the main territory of the Russian Federation.

So, in March 2023, the ferries Ambal, Marshal Rokossovsky and General Chernyakhovsky delivered more than 70,000 tons of cargo to Kaliningrad, and the bulk carriers Sparta and Sparta II about 18,000 tons. Among them were daily chickens for the only egg production enterprise in the Kaliningrad region, materials for the construction of a large dairy livestock complex in the region, fertilizers and equipment for agricultural work.

Ferries also transported construction materials included in the sanctions list of the European Union countries for the construction of socially significant facilities, in particular for the construction of a new general education school building (within the framework of the national project Education), as well as a medical outpatient clinic (within the framework of the national project Modernization of primary health care).

Operational cooperation between the Ministries of Infrastructure Development, Health and Agriculture of the Kaliningrad Region, Oboronlogistics and its line agents in the ports of Ust-Luga and Baltiysk contributes to improving transport accessibility and full-fledged activities of the Kaliningrad Region.
