Thanks to the efforts of specialists of Oboronlogistics, a ferry operating on the Ust-Luga – Baltiysk sea line delivered to Kaliningrad the newest trolleybus Sinara-6254, produced at the Chelyabinsk plant of urban electric Transport.
Currently, trolleybuses are operated in Kaliningrad, the average age of which is 13.5 years. The leadership of the region is working on options for updating the public transport fleet with an emphasis on environmentally friendly types.
The experimental model Sinara-6254 will run through city streets for a month with and without a contact network in order to test the autonomous course. From September 25 to October 6, Sinara will carry passengers. Based on the results of testing, the city administration will decide on the purchase of a fleet of such machines. Then the capital of the westernmost region of Russia may become one of the first cities where these stylish bright red trolleybuses will appear.
The fully low-floor trolleybus Sinara-6254 has an autonomous course increased to 80 km, which will partially free the streets from the contact network. The trolleybus has 37 anatomical seats with vandal-proof coating, its total capacity is 90 passengers. The cabin has USB slots for charging mobile devices, Wi-Fi, information and video surveillance systems, a folding platform for people with limited mobility, an LED lighting system, air conditioning.
Other features include increased smoothness, increased glazing area and ceiling height, expanded doorways and the possibility of tilting the car body at stops (knilling). The trolleybus is equipped with an ADAS system, rain and light sensors, and all-round cameras. Automatic gas and aerosol fire extinguishing devices are used on board.
If the administration of the Kaliningrad Region decides to purchase a batch of new trolleybuses, Oboronlogistics, as a single operator of the Ust-Luga – Baltiysk line, is ready to offer a scheme for their optimal delivery.
Oboronlogistika ensures the stable operation of the Ust-Luga – Baltiysk ferry line and has already organized the delivery of Lastochka electric trains, Corsair trams and motor buses to the Kaliningrad Region.
