The Goal Is Movement

Oboronlogistics, as the operator of the Ust-Luga - Baltiysk railway and ferry line, has joined the race The Goal is Movement dedicated to the 20th anniversary of JSC Russian Railways. The idea of the action is to carry the National Flag of the Russian Federation along all the railways of the country from east to west.

The relay started on June 12, 2023 in Vladivostok as part of the celebration of Russia Day. Activists of JSC Russian Railways ran and cycled along the railway routes from the Far East to St. Petersburg. At each of the junction stations, the participants handed over the flag of the Russian Federation to their colleagues and attached a commemorative badge of the locality through which the route ran to the signal vest.

On September 25, 2023, the flag of the Russian Federation was delivered by the participants of the relay to the port of Ust-Luga and proceeded by rail ferry across the Gulf of Finland and the Baltic Sea to the port of Baltiysk, where it was solemnly presented to a representative of the Kaliningrad Directorate of Traffic Management of JSC Russian Railways.

The total length of the relay is 12,000 km . The finish will take place in Kaliningrad on October 1, 2023. The initiator of the event is the Central Directorate of Traffic Management of JSC Russian Railways. The campaign is aimed at popularizing a healthy lifestyle, forming an active lifestyle and fostering the patriotic spirit of Russian railway workers.

Currently, the Ust-Luga – Baltiysk railway ferry line is the only type of regular communication between the Kaliningrad Region and the main territory of the Russian Federation, which allows delivering bulk shipments without passing through the territories of limitrophs. There are 4 railway ferries operating on the line: Ambal, Baltiysk, Marshal Rokossovsky and General Chernyakhovsky, equipped with railway tracks for the transportation of rolling stock.
