Sparta IV confirmed the class

The modern high-speed dry cargo ship Sparta IV, built in 2018, which is part of the fleet of Oboronlogistics LLC, has passed the next survey and received the classification and registration documents necessary for international voyages.

A regular survey is mandatory for all types of floating facilities and is carried out every five years to confirm the class of the vessel and the good condition of all its parts.

In December 2023, the first overhaul of m/v Sparta IV in the dock was completed under the supervision of specialists of the Russian Classification Society, during which the following work was carried out:

maintenance of main and auxiliary machinery;

maintenance and repair of cargo cranes;

diagnostics and repair of the rudder propeller;

cleaning of the hull from fouling;

painting of the underwater and surface parts of the hull;

repair of bottom and intake reinforcement;

inspection of rescue and fire-fighting equipment;

mooring and sea trials.

Since 2018, the vessel has been operating in the Far East, delivering cargo to points in the Arctic as part of the Northern Delivery, was involved in the southern direction, and sailed to Turkey, India and Syria. Currently, the vessel delivers cargo in the interests of commercial customers.

The Sparta IV vessel has a speed of up to 14 knots and is designed for the delivery of general, container and bulk cargo, as well as the transportation of goods requiring special conditions, including perishable products, cars, heavy construction equipment, dangerous and oversized cargo.

The vessel has two cargo holds and is capable of taking 630 TEUs, including 44 refrigerated containers. Two cargo cranes with a lifting capacity of 55 tons each allow for prompt cargo handling. The deadweight of m/v Sparta IV is 8,625 tons.
