January: without slowing down

Oboronlogistics summed up the results of sea transportation in January 2024:

1. Oboronlogistics' ferries Maria and Lavrentiy, used on the Crimea-Caucasus line, made about 215 round trips, transported 10,000 vehicles and 17,000 passengers. Despite the periodic deterioration of weather conditions in the strait, the data remains at the level of December.

2. Three railway ferries (Baltiysk, Marshal Rokossovsky and General Chernyakhovsky) operated on the Ust-Luga – Baltiysk line. At the end of 2023, the Ambal ferry left the line for scheduled repairs at the Kanonersky Shipyard. In this regard, the total number of transported goods decreased slightly. In total, the ferries transported a total of 90,000 tons (including about 2,000 wagons and 1,500 units of rolling equipment). The main nomenclature of cargo, as usual, consisted of fuel, lubricants and construction materials, fertilizers, as well as food.

3. Three Oboronlogistics vessels operated on the St. Petersburg-Kaliningrad container line: the Sparta and Sparta II multipurpose bulk carriers and the Pizhma bulk carrier. Despite the difficult ice conditions in the Baltic, in total they transported about 30,000 tons of cargo (this is more than in previous months), including:

containers – 1,692 units (24,427 tons);

rolling equipment – 196 units (5,255 tons);

General cargo – 244 tons.
