What was transported in January?

In January 2024, three railway ferries (Baltiysk, Marshal Rokossovsky and General Chernyakhovsky) operated by Oboronlogistics operated on the Ust-Luga – Baltiysk line.

Taking into account that at the end of 2023, the Ambal ferry left the line for scheduled repairs and storm phenomena in the Baltic made adjustments to the ferry traffic (General Chernyakhovsky made four voyages instead of five, Baltiysk - three), the total amount of cargo transported decreased slightly.

A total of 90,000 tonnes (including about 2,000 wagons and 1,500 units of rolling equipment) were transported to the Kaliningrad Region and back. The main nomenclature of goods was fuel, lubricants and construction materials, fertilizers, as well as food.

In addition, the Kaliningrad region received goods that are extremely necessary for the life support of the region:
• medical equipment and drugs for medical institutions, including miramistin, helium and oxygen;
• water disinfection systems, reagents for treatment facilities in the region;
• pipes and equipment necessary for gasification of the region's facilities;
• products of pulp and paper mills (paper, cardboard, packaging, spools);
• special construction machinery, graders, excavators, tractors, cranes, garbage trucks, ambulances, buses, concrete pumps.

 In the opposite direction, ferries brought products of Kaliningrad manufacturers, including a composite products plant. In addition, residents of the Kaliningrad region sent humanitarian goods collected for military personnel in the zone of the special military operation by ferries.

 The interaction of the Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Agriculture of the Kaliningrad Region, Oboronlogistics and its line agents in the ports of Ust-Luga and Baltiysk contributed to the prompt delivery of goods and maintaining the pace of development of the region's infrastructure.
