Ferries for vehicles
In the context of the continuing tightening of the policy of restricting road transit to the Kaliningrad region by Lithuania, timely delivery of goods to the region in the required volume is one of the priority tasks for the Government of the Kaliningrad region and sea carriers operating in the Baltic. One of the tools for work in this area is to increase the efficiency of the use of sea transport, including the ferry fleet operating on the Ust-Luga – Baltiysk line and specializing in the transportation of railway cars and motor vehicles.
The regional government and shipowners (Oboronlogistics and Rosmorport) decided to redistribute all the released ferry capacities for the loading of rolling equipment. So, in March of this year, the total share of cars transported by ferries increased by 54%.
In a critical situation, cargo owners can contact the regional authorities or ferry owners, the appeal will be considered and, if possible, assistance will be provided.
First of all, priority is given to cargoes necessary for the life support of the region, all other additional packages go for free sale, which is carried out by Oboronlogistics agents in the ports of Ust-Luga and Baltiysk: Trans-Business-Consulting (transportation from the port of Baltiysk to the port of Ust-Luga) and ImexService (transportation from the port of Ust-Luga to the port of Baltiysk).
