On June 18, 2024, the Small Hall of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation hosted a screening of the documentary " Into the Arctic", organized by the State Duma Committee for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic. At the invitation of the Association of Polar Explorers, representatives of Oboronlogistics took part in the screening and subsequent discussion of the film with the participation of the film crew.
The film was created by director, ethnographer and traveler Leonid Kruglov with the support of the Russian Geographical Society for 5 years, it included materials from 7 Arctic expeditions, premiered in February 2024.
The film crew traveled along the Northern Sea Route, visited the Taimyr Peninsula and the coast of Chukotka, visited all the Arctic archipelagos of Russia: Novaya Zemlya, Franz Josef Land, Severnaya Zemlya, the New Siberian Islands, as well as the islands of De Long, Wrangel, Ushakov and Vaygach. Filming was carried out from April to November, since in winter heavy ice does not allow you to approach the islands and it is almost impossible to shoot in the conditions of the polar night at extremely low temperatures.
Oboronlogistics praised the documentary and the work of the film crew. All of these geographical names are not just points on the map, but points in the Arctic where the company's ships go. Oboronlogistics specialists have extensive experience in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation since 2017. During this time, the company has delivered more than 150 thousand tons of cargo to the Arctic, including food, medicines, equipment, fuel, lubricants and construction materials. In the opposite direction, about 12 thousand tons of obsolete equipment and scrap metal were removed as part of the program to clean up the Arctic.
Currently, Oboronlogistics is actively preparing its vessels for navigation in 2024, and is also engaged in the design of its own harbor watercraft (flatboats), which will allow the delivery of goods to the most remote points of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation and unloading on an unequipped shore.
The Arctic zone accounts for about one-fifth of Russia's territory, and few can visit it. But thanks to the film "Into the Arctic", viewers can see this harsh wildlife outpost in all its glory and meet real enthusiasts working in the Arctic!
Oboronlogistics recommends watching the film " Into the Arctic" for everyone who is not indifferent to nature, sea travel, the history of Arctic development and work in the northern latitudes.
