In June 2024, Oboronlogistics registered a new shipping line, SK YUG Line, so that the company's vessels could continue to operate between the seaports of St. Petersburg and Kaliningrad (Baltiysk).
On July 5, 2024, the Sparta II dry cargo ship owned by Oboronlogistics entered the line, thereby resuming work on the delivery of goods between the Kaliningrad region and the main territory of Russia. The vessel will carry 3,200 tons on the first round trip, including 36 units of rolling equipment and 175 containers.
Earlier, the Oboronlogistics vessel Sparta II has been operating on the line between St. Petersburg and Kaliningrad under the control of FSUE Rosmorport since October 2022. During this time, it transported more than 210,000 tons of cargo back and forth.
The Sparta II has a cargo hold and decks to accommodate containers and rolling equipment. The presence of ship cranes and a stern ramp allows for vertical and horizontal cargo handling. The length of the vessel is 121.7 m, the width is 18.7 m. At maximum load, the Sparta II has a deadweight of 8000 tons, a draft of 7 m and a speed of 11 knots.
Currently, 2 Oboronlogistics dry cargo ships run between the ports of St. Petersburg and Kaliningrad (Baltiysk): Pizhma and Sparta II, as well as the Ambal ferry on the Ust-Luga – Baltiysk railway-ferry line.
