IMO checks, Oboronlogistics performs

The International Maritime Organization (IMO) unites most of the countries of the world and is a specialized UN agency that is responsible for organizing maritime safety and environmental protection, as well as resolving legal issues related to international shipping.

Under the auspices of the IMO, more than fifty international conventions and protocols to them, more than a thousand recommendations and codes have been adopted. The most important are the Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), the Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (MARPOL), the Convention on the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (COLREG) and many other documents that all shipowners in the world must comply with.

In September 2024, a delegation of IMO auditors arrived in the Russian Federation to verify compliance with obligations under IMO international conventions, including flag, port and coastal State obligations. Earlier in 2009, Russia underwent a voluntary audit within the framework of the IMO. Mandatory inspection is being carried out in our country for the first time.

Oboronlogistics LLC pays serious attention to compliance with all maritime safety requirements and protection of the marine environment. At present, Oboronlogistics operates 8 sea vessels of various types with an unlimited navigation area and carries out sea transportation in the waters of the Atlantic, Indian, Arctic and Pacific Oceans, as well as the Azov, Baltic, Mediterranean, Black and other seas.

The company's vessels are equipped with a modern ballast water treatment system, which eliminates the risks of environmental pollution. Specialists of the company's coastal services and crews of vessels constantly monitor the condition of the fleet, comply with the norms of safe operation, as well as the norms of labor law within the framework of the Paris Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). In accordance with IMO emission requirements, Oboronlogistics regularly sends fuel used on ships to specialized laboratories for sulfur analysis.
