Pizhma: heading for Baltiysk

The dry cargo Oboronlogistics ship Pizhma has started transporting goods on the container OBL-Line, connecting the ports of St. Petersburg and Baltiysk.

At the end of the summer of 2024, the vessel underwent repairs to the hull, ventilation and heeling tanks necessary to ensure the stability of the vessel during loading and unloading operations.

Pizhma is designed for transportation of any type of cargo (general, bulk and containers), as well as cargo of all hazard classes, including radioactive (class 7). The vessel has two holds and two ship cranes that allow for prompt cargo handling. At maximum load, the vessel carries up to 3,400 tons of cargo per voyage and reaches speeds of up to 11 knots.

The vessel has been operating on the line since December 2023 and was previously redeployed from the Black Sea to strengthen the Oboronlogistics flotilla, which ensures the delivery of goods to the Kaliningrad region.
