Lift 600 tons? It's easy!

The flagship of the Oboronlogistics fleet, the Ursa Mayor (translated from Latin as "Big Dipper") set off on another voyage to the Far East with a large project cargo: port cranes weighing 380 tons each, necessary for the expansion of the terminal in Vladivostok, and 45-ton hatch covers for new icebreakers.

Thus, the largest vessel of Oboronlogistics is once again involved in the implementation of state tasks for the development of port infrastructure and the Northern Sea Route.

The harbour cranes were loaded on board the vessel by two of Ursa Major's own ship cranes. Since the lifting capacity of each ship crane is 350 tons, they had to work in a pair (together they lift a load of up to 600 tons). To ensure the stability of the vessel when performing cargo operations with oversized cargo, containers were loaded on the lower deck in advance as additional ballast. The complex cargo operation was completely carried out by the ship's crew.
