Tulips in February

The end of February is traditionally associated with a high demand for the delivery of flowers, which on March 8 will be sure to give to the fair sex throughout the country.

Ferries operating between Kaliningrad and St. Petersburg have already begun transporting live tulips from nurseries in the Kaliningrad region to the main territory of Russia.

The region's enterprises today occupy the niche of the country's largest producers of a wide range of plants with a production capacity of more than 11 million cut flowers per season.

For live bouquets, steam is the best way to transport, since such perishable goods require specific conditions and maintaining a constant set temperature along the entire route.

On board the vessel, refrigerated trailers with plants are connected to the power grid to maintain temperature conditions and a certain humidity.

In total, more than 80 trucks with tulips are planned to be delivered from the territory of the Kaliningrad region to other subjects of the Russian Federation by International Women's Day.
