Bars returned to the Volga

The tugboat Bars, which is part of the Oboronlogistics fleet, continues to develop the company's transport competencies in the inland water transportation market.

At the end of July 2025, Bars completed its tasks in a barge-towing train on the Svir River and began towing another oversized cargo along the Volga-Baltic Route and the Volga Basin.

Depending on the navigation areas and weather conditions, different methods of transportation are used along the route: pushing - on rivers and canals, towing with the use of a cable - on reservoirs.

The Bars is a twin-screw pusher. Length - 40.80 m, average draft - 2.16 m, width - 8.60 m, engine power - 1039 horsepower, estimated tractive effort - 10 tons.

Due to its design, the tugboat Bars can carry out transportation of project, oversized and large-tonnage cargoes, as well as work as part of barge-towing complexes with cargoes of various ranges (liquid, bulk, oversized, container, special equipment, etc.) on inland waterways.
