Sparta IV helped Kaliningrad

At the end of August, the Oboronlogistics dry cargo ship Sparta IV made a voyage from St. Petersburg to Kaliningrad with a large consignment of cargo intended for industrial enterprises in the Kaliningrad region.

Such trips are undertaken in the interests of commercial customers to expand the possibilities of transport communication with the Kaliningrad region due to difficulties in transit through the territory of limitrophes.

After Lithuania imposed a ban on the transportation of sanctioned Russian goods, they can only be delivered to Kaliningrad by air and sea, including Oboronlogistics ships operating on the St. Petersburg-Kaliningrad line.

Currently, three vessels of the company operate on a regular basis on the container line: Sparta, Sparta II and Pizhma. With the increase in the number of ships, the volume of cargo transported in August 2025 increased by 26% compared to last month.

 Sparta IV was built in 2018 reaches speeds of up to 14 knots and can carry general, container, bulk and oversized cargo, as well as heavy construction equipment. The vessel operated in the Far East and the Arctic, sailed to India, Syria and Turkey.
