Caspian Sea: New Opportunities

Representatives of Oboronlogistika took part in a working meeting of Russian and Iranian maritime transport experts held on November 7, 2025 in Makhachkala.

The seaport of Makhachkala is one of the key hubs of the North-South International Transport Corridor, connecting Russian ports in the Caspian region with Iran, India, China, and other countries of Asia and the Middle East. Caspian Sea shipments offer significant logistics opportunities for both countries.

The parties discussed:

· Modernization of port infrastructure
· Potential launch of a container line between the port of Makhachkala and Iranian seaports
· Establishment of a shipping companies consortium

Oboronlogistika emphasized the meeting's practical value, noting the opportunity to study logistics development and the cargo base in the Caspian region, as well as to share experience and propose ideas for multimodal transportation of various cargo types between Russia and Iran.
