Pizhma changed class

In September 2026, in accordance with the changes in the Rules for the Classification and Construction of Sea-Going Vessels of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping and based on the results of the annual classification survey, m/v Pizhma changed the type and class of the vessel from "General Cargo" to "Vessel for General Cargo".

The Pizhma vessel, which is part of the Oboronlogistcs fleet, is designed to transport all types of cargo, including dangerous cargo (7th class). Two ship cranes (with a lifting capacity of 35 tons each) allow Pizhma to quickly carry out loading and unloading operations both in the port and on an unequipped shore or open roadstead.

During the voyage, Pizhma can carry a maximum of up to 3.5 thousand tons of cargo and develop a speed of up to 15 knots. Pizhma operates on the regular container line "St. Petersburg - Kaliningrad", including within the framework of the program of subsidizing sea transportation, provides transport accessibility to the Kaliningrad region, guaranteeing a stable connection of the exclave with the main territory of the country.
